Music Spotlight: Granger Smith
Granger Smith, sometimes known by his alter ego, Earl Dibbles Jr., is a country artist from Dallas, Texas. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Granger had some kind words for his home state: "Texas is home to me. It's a big part of what I do and where I come from. It's been a big platform for me, especially the Texas Music platform, to have the charting system, and to have the touring system to get us out to where we are now." Granger carries that state of mind into his craft, making his music easy to fall in love with. His vocals linger in this slow motion and wonderful way, layered melodically over the other instruments that comprise his band. Granger's bio describes his music in the following way:
"By consistently providing blended hits that are well outside the realm of “typical,” Granger’s music provides a refreshing and unique variation on the growing independent country music scene."
My favorite songs include Bury Me In Blue Jeans, Miles and Mud Tires, Oxygen, Silverado Bench Seat, & Don't Listen to the Radio.

Who else would you lend money to, Zimbabwe? “Debt” (so-called) is only a loan against atsess (present or future) that has not been cleared. If you want to grab headlines, don’t call them “debtors” rather label them “con artists.” Unless the loans actually are paid off … at which point money is destroyed and those productive people become the “evaporators of bank balances.”

, you need to calm down a bit. That’s the nicest way to put it. If you don’t care for Mike’s style of viodes, fine. But one thing I don’t get, though I am in no way involved with the site and am just a fan, is why people bother making criticisms like this. Me personally, if I had a site where I put content out, you know, requests or friendly suggestions is one thing. But someone basically ripping my work a new one, while kindly letting me know that at least I’m not a piece of shit , is pretty wild, and I would probably just delete that shit. This site isn’t just for AVGN. Mike has worked with James for a long time, and he’s been a part of the Cinemassacre Family , helping run the site, make viodes, do the artwork, etc., for a long time. Personally, I’m glad Mike started making viodes, as I appreciate his insight into many things that he and I (and James) have in common. I happen to be the same age as Mike and James, growing up as a kid in the 80s and a teen in the 90s, and as it turns out, we had/have a lot of the same interests. They had a lot of the same experiences and likes growing up as I did, and so I love their viodes because, for one thing, it helps me go back and remember those things from someone else’s perspective. For another, I just think they’re entertaining.But one thing I think you really need to keep in mind when it comes to Mike’s viodes, is that he’s not James, and these aren’t James’ viodes. These aren’t AVGN episodes, nor are they trying to be. I don’t think Mike is neccissarily trying to be funny or even going out of his way to entertain people. I think his viodes are what they are, which is him sharing stuff and giving his own thoughts and info about them. That’s it. Taken for what they are, and NOT for what they aren’t, they’re great little viodes, and I for one am very thankful that Mike is keeping the site going with new content while James is making the film. I know it probably gets old to hear on here, but as many many people keep saying, myself included, if you don’t like it, don’t watch. But giving someone like Mike, who doesn’t have to be doing this, the kind of comment that I don’t really like your viodes, so I won’t be coming to this site much, and I have other sites to go to ..it’s just pointless and waste of yours and Mike’s time. If you don’t care for his viodes, fine. Don’t come to the site. It’s not like it’s going to miss you, it’s still going to get millions of hits a day. But beyond that, what purpose could saying some of the things you had to say possibly really serve in the end? Do you expect Mike to slap his forehead and say OF COURSE! I’m so sorry dude, I’ll start being more entertaining for you! ? Sorry to sound harsh, and to ramble on at length .but I just never quite understand the motivation behind comments like this. They just seem like an enormous waste of time. It’s one thing to make positive suggestions to people who create something for your benefit or entertainment. But it’s another entirely to bother coming to a site, watching their content, and then basically posting That sucks, it needs to be etc. etc. etc. .a0 If it were me, I’d tell ya not to let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. But Mike is probably a bigger man than I am. And like you said ..at LEAST he isn’t a piece of shit. ;-P
